The role of a Platform Architect is to provide strategic technical expertise in the design and development of platforms, ensuring scalability, extensibility, and smooth functioning. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the architectural design of platforms, including middleware, database, and backup systems.
  • Conducting technology capacity planning to review current and future requirements.
  • Utilizing new features of underlying technologies to ensure efficient system operation.
  • Strategizing and implementing disaster recovery plans and backup and recovery processes.

Additionally, this role involves:

  • Managing day-to-day operations, troubleshooting issues, conducting root cause analysis, and developing fixes.
  • Planning and managing upgradations, migrations, maintenance, backup, installation, and configuration functions.
  • Reviewing technical performance and deploying ways to improve efficiency and reduce performance challenges.

This role requires strong leadership skills, as you will be responsible for:

  • Talent management, including forecasting talent requirements, hiring resources, training direct reportees, and promoting diversity in leadership positions.
  • Performance management, setting goals, conducting timely performance reviews, and giving constructive feedback.
  • Employee satisfaction and engagement, leading engagement initiatives, tracking team satisfaction scores, and identifying opportunities to build engagement.

Key competencies required for this role include:

  • Knowledge of platform architecture, application development, and database management.
  • Expertise in IT industry trends and understanding of risk mitigation and quality standards.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
