**Occupational Health Specialist Role:**

The Factory Medical Officer plays a vital part in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by conducting health hazard assessments, developing procedures, and referring employees to local hospitals.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough occupational health hazard assessments and recommend improvements to the management team.
  • Ensure all legal requirements under the Factories Act and Rajasthan Factories Rules are met.
  • Create and implement general and occupational health procedures that align with ISO standards and best practices.
  • Provide timely referrals to local hospitals and specialists for employee care.
  • Collaborate with the management team to identify and address occupational health issues.

Key Operational Tasks:

  • Perform pre-employment and regular medical examinations to ensure worker fitness.
  • Offer first aid care, including emergency treatment.
  • Coordinate statutory health check-ups and schedule visits by certifying surgeons.
  • Maintain accurate medicine inventory and records at the Occupational Health Centre (OHC).
  • Analyze employee health trends and provide relevant advice.
  • Deliver health education on occupational hazards, personal hygiene, environmental sanitation, and safety.
  • Oversee OHC operations to manage any medical emergencies.

Financial Management:

  • Monitor and control Medical Centre revenue budgets.
  • Develop capital expenditure proposals.

People Development:

  • Provide expert medical guidance and advice.
  • Conduct occupational health and general health awareness training, including first aid courses.

Requirements:

  • MBBS degree.
  • Diploma in Industrial Health (DIH) or Certificate of Training in Industrial Health recognized by the state government.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 1-8 years of experience managing OHC in an industrial setting is required.
