Senior Tax Specialist

The role involves meticulously preparing U.S. individual and business tax returns, working closely with clients to gather all necessary information and documents. You will also be responsible for reviewing and analyzing year-over-year data to identify missing information or documents, ensuring comprehensive and accurate returns.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review U.S. individual and business tax returns, utilizing an in-depth understanding of tax forms and their implications.
  • Manage the entire tax preparation process, from document collection to client signatures, ensuring a seamless experience for clients.
  • Analyze year-over-year data to identify missing information or documents, ensuring comprehensive and accurate returns.
  • Closely collaborate with owners to ensure timely and precise completion of returns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • IRS Enrolled Agent status or pursuing it.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience preparing U.S. individual tax returns.
  • Proficiency in navigating tax software and confidently handling tax-related documents.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, combined with strong analytical skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Reliable and high-speed internet connection.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in individual and business tax return preparation.
  • Familiarity with W2s, 1098s, 1099s, K-1s, and schedules such as E and C.
  • Skilled in completing accurate extensions with balance due payments.
  • Capable of working 8-12 hour days during peak tax seasons (Jan-May, Sept-Oct) and 8-hour days during off-season.
  • A reliable backup internet connection.
  • Capable computer setup for efficient remote work.
