About the Role

As a highly skilled IT Portfolio Manager at Qatar Duty Free, you will be responsible for leading the relationship with Business divisions from an IT delivery and outcome perspective. Your primary goal will be to manage annual IT work programmes with a large and operationally critical workload of assigned LOB's (Line of Business's), keeping in mind business growth plans, opportunities, and operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and ensure structured, qualitative, and quantitative reviews of IT service delivery with assigned departments.
  • Take ownership of ensuring business cases & CMCs have right cost inputs for assigned programmes and projects.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure projects are delivered within agreed-upon costs and timescales.
  • Ensure IT work programme undertakings are agreed upon with business units, along with key attributes such as business priority defined and maintained.
  • Establish organisational governance for work programmes, including Steering Committees and Working Groups, in collaboration with Senior Managers.
  • Consolidate, prioritise risks from individual projects and operational systems based on risk exposure, and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Maintain a consolidated work programme plan based on high-level planning output from individual projects.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to Senior Managers on project KPIs through the deployment of business management processes and systems.
  • Contribute to the development of annual and rolling budgets related to application systems for business areas in line with agreed-upon business-specific IT strategies.
  • Perform other departmental duties related to your position as directed by the Head of Department.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Commerce, or Sciences, with a minimum of 8 years of job-related experience.
  • Proven track record of leading IT projects, with at least 3 years of successful delivery of large work programmes.
  • Industry-related certification in ITIL, Project Management, or other relevant fields.
  • Experience in applications development, implementation, and support management, programme management, team management, vendor management, effective communication, managerial skills, influencing and negotiation skills, problem-solving and decision-making, responsible for maintaining positive relationships with clients, and overseeing the delivery of services to clients.

About You:

  • You possess excellent knowledge and understanding of delivering complex business and technology transformations, with experience in onsite/offshore models.
  • You have expertise in end-to-end software development life cycles, starting from requirements phases until delivery and rollout, preferably using CMMI methodology and Azure DevOps.
  • You are an airline industry professional with a proven track record of success, although not essential, it would be an added advantage.
