About the Role:

  • We are seeking a skilled Data Systems Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms that meet the needs of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data platform services for varied use cases such as data extraction, processing, ingestion, observability, and discovery.
  • Own and operate the analytical data warehouse/data lake, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Manage the deployment of services onto multiple data centers across the globe, leveraging Kubernetes expertise.
  • Enable performance monitoring and auto-scaling of platform services, guaranteeing scalability and reliability.
  • Contribute to establishing and enforcing coding and operational best practices for the team, promoting a culture of excellence.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, BI engineering, and data warehouse development.
  • Excellent command of one or more programming languages, preferably Python or Java.
  • Excellent SQL skills, with knowledge of Flink, Airflow, DBT, and distributed SQL engines like Athena/Presto.
  • Experience working with ETL data pipelines and strong knowledge of architecture and internals of Apache Spark.
  • Ability to cut through buzzwords and pick the right tools for building systems centered on core principles of reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
