Splunk Engineer Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Splunk Engineer to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals looking to leverage their expertise in data analytics and security monitoring with the Splunk platform.

About this Role:

As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our Splunk platform to drive operational intelligence, advanced data analytics, and security monitoring capabilities.

Your primary goal will be to onboard diverse data sources, develop powerful dashboards, and ensure the optimal performance and security of our Splunk environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Data Ingestion and Management: Design, deploy, and maintain Splunk Enterprise architecture, including indexers, search heads, forwarders, and deployment servers.
  2. Data Parsing and Onboarding: Onboard and parse data from various sources into Splunk using Universal Forwarders, Heavy Forwarders, and custom data inputs.
  3. Search Processing and Analytics: Develop complex Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL) queries, reports, dashboards, and alerts for operational visibility and security monitoring.
  4. App Management and Optimization: Implement and manage Splunk apps and add-ons, including Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) or IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) if applicable.
  5. Performance Monitoring and Tuning: Optimize Splunk performance, manage data retention policies, and ensure efficient resource utilization.
  6. Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Splunk data ingestion, searching, and platform stability.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in Splunk administration, architecture, and development. This includes hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise, proficiency in SPL, knowledge of regular expressions, and a solid understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems.

Achieving Splunk certifications (e.g., Splunk Certified User, Power User, Enterprise Certified Admin, Architect) is desirable but not mandatory.
