Main Objectives:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing a purchase plan based on Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and minimum inventory norms, coordinating with the planning and packing department.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate with suppliers and transporters for status on orders and deliveries.
  2. Supervise the receipt and control of daily purchase receipts and production receipts of material.
  3. Ensure timely and adequate movement of material within the unit to ensure smooth operations.
  4. Plan, implement, and monitor targets of logistics costs and work on an optimum logistics model.
  5. Ensure maintenance of proper accounts of recycled bottles and packing material in the unit.
  6. Ensure scrap sale at best rates.
  7. Ensure security in transit for inbound and outbound goods through necessary insurance.
  8. Maximise credit terms and thus enhance cash flow.
  9. Plan vs actuals.
  10. Man-hours lost due to material unavailability.
  11. Adherence to timelines.
  12. Excise:
    1. Maintain all records as per State/Central Excise Department rules and regulations pertaining to blending, bottling, and plant.
    2. Ensure records pertaining to stock registers, warehouse registers, monthly returns, bonding, and debonding are updated and maintained on a daily basis.
    3. Ensure necessary verifications are done on accurate and timely basis, eg, finish goods stock position, spirits entry, job worker's bill, daily physical stock verification as per Excise records.
    4. Ensure timely and accurate submission of statutory documents.
    5. Oversee the loading of Finished Goods.
    6. Plan vs actuals.
    7. Adherence to timelines.
    8. Accuracy.
  13. Stores:
    1. Maintain stock of raw material and finished goods.
    2. Maintain FIFO/FEFO for all RM/PM/BM & FG.
    3. Liaise with customers, suppliers, and transport companies.
    4. Plan, coordinate, and monitor the receipt and dispatch of goods.
    5. Plan inventory management by ensuring stock control measures are implemented and accurate inventories maintained.
    6. Plan future capacity requirements.
    7. Ensure all standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security in the work environment are adhered to.
    8. Oversee the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
    9. Plan vs actuals.
    10. Adherence to timelines.
  14. Logistics:
    1. Lay down the logistics processes and procedures to be followed.
    2. Assign responsibilities for procurement, storing, packing, and dispatch.
    3. Manage the day-to-day operations of the various functions, i.e., order handling, procurement, warehousing, dispatch, excise.
    4. Lay down procedures, check points, and processes to properly monitor inventory in order to maintain optimum levels of stock at all times.
    5. Monitor and govern Vendor Management process.
  15. Budgeting & Reporting:
    1. Budget for future requirements of the department and ensure availability of resources.
    2. Monitor current expenditure to ensure optimum utilization of resources.
    3. Prepare contingency plan for fluctuations in demand.
    4. Assist unit head for preparation of daily & monthly MIS.
    5. Maintain MIS reports on Sales budget, Dispatch Reports, Inventory Report, Excise related reports, etc.
    6. Budget for capex investments wrt upgradation of work procedures to minimise manpower requirement.
    7. Plan vs Actual.
  16. People Management:
    1. Lead, direct, motivate, guide, and monitor the various team members to contribute to productivity improvement.
    2. Organise recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitor staff performance and progress.
    3. Liaison with vendors and excise bodies.
    4. Engage with Sales to understand gaps and plan corrective actions.
    5. Liaise effectively with trade unions for a better output from workmen.
    6. Attrition %.
    7. Adherence to training plan.
    8. Adherence to corrective action plan.
