Support the development and implementation of literacy programs in schools. Ensure effective program design, monitoring, and evaluation. Provide training and coaching to teachers and librarians. Collaborate with local communities to promote reading habits and improve educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Design and Implementation:
    • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Room to Read's Literacy program.
    • Manage and support library program intervention across assigned project schools.
    • Provide regular reports to supervisors on program progress and challenges.
  • School Visits and Library Setup:
    • Conduct regular school visits to monitor program implementation and provide feedback.
    • Assist in the setup and organization of libraries, including site verification and community meetings.
  • Training and Capacity Building:
    • Participate in teacher and librarian training related to Literacy program implementation.
    • Coach teachers and librarians in good library management practices and systems.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Support Family & Community Engagement (FCE) activities like literacy events and parent meetings.
    • Coordinate the formation and training of Child Management Committees.
  • Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Regularly collect and analyze data on program effectiveness.
    • Provide regular updates to principals/headmasters on program progress and challenges.
