Job Title: Retail Store Manager

Overview

We are seeking an experienced retail store manager to lead our team and drive sales performance. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing high-end fashion stores and be able to maintain the highest standards of customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and point-of-sale systems.

  • Maintain a visually appealing store environment through effective visual merchandising, cleanliness, and ambiance.

  • Implement seasonal campaigns, festive promotions, and new collection launches as directed by head office.

  • Drive sales to achieve and exceed monthly revenue targets.

  • Ensure customers receive personalized styling guidance for sarees, blouses, and accessories.

  • Handle escalated customer queries and ensure smooth exchange/return processes.

  • Cultivate long-term relationships with loyal customers and promote membership programs.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise sales staff, stylists, and support personnel.

  • Monitor staff performance, set targets, and conduct regular team meetings.

  • Oversee stock movement, replenishment, tagging, and barcoding.

  • Maintain accurate records of saree collections and minimize stock loss/shrinkage.

  • Provide timely feedback on bestsellers, customer preferences, and market trends to the merchandising team.

  • Execute in-store events such as festive saree showcases, draping workshops, and wedding collection previews.

  • Coordinate with marketing for influencer visits, live streaming, and customer engagement activities.

  • Promote store offers and exclusive collections through local channels and social media collaborations.

  • Prepare daily/weekly sales and footfall reports.

  • Ensure compliance with billing, GST, and company policies.

  • Maintain safety and operational excellence within the store.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills in English, Bengali, and Hindi.

  • Knowledge of ethnic wear fabrics, draping styles, and customer preferences.

  • Customer-first mindset with problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to thrive in high-footfall seasons.

  • Proficiency in billing software, POS systems, and MS Office.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred in Retail, Fashion Management, or Business).

  • 4–6 years of experience in apparel/ethnic retail management.
