This is a senior-level quality assurance role responsible for overseeing the entire quality function at a manufacturing factory.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in textile technology, apparel manufacturing, or fashion technology and a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in garment manufacturing with at least 5 years in a quality leadership position.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing inspection of fabrics, trims, laces, beads, sequins, zari, and other embellishments at the incoming stage.
- Ensuring shrinkage, colorfastness, embroidery strength, wash tests, and hand-feel tests are conducted before bulk production.
- Coordinating with sourcing and merchandising teams for approvals and rejections.
Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Maintaining a high level of quality control throughout the production process.
- Implementing defect prevention techniques to reduce rework and wastage.
- Ensuring compliance with internal quality benchmarks and statutory norms.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and people management skills, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. They should also have a deep knowledge of ethnic wear garment construction and finishing, as well as an eye for detail in embroidery, embellishment, and handwork quality.
The selected candidate will work closely with the QA/QC team to ensure that all quality standards are met, and that customer complaints/returns are minimized.
