OpenShift Virtualization Specialist

  • This role involves the installation, maintenance and operation of OpenShift Virtualization environments.
  • Troubleshooting: The specialist will diagnose and resolve issues related to OpenShift, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • IT Process Management: The specialist must understand and adhere to IT processes, including incident, change and problem management.
  • Windows Server Management: Proficiency in managing Windows Servers, including patch management is required.
  • Network Understanding: Strong understanding of networking principles and practices is necessary.
  • Storage Management: Knowledge and management of storage systems and technologies including storage management in OpenShift (PV, PVC) are required.
  • Bare Metal Servers: Experience in bare metal server installation, rack and stack operations, and decommissioning servers, including examples such as DELL and HP ProLiant servers is essential.
  • VM Management: Experience in deploying, operating, decommissioning, and migrating virtual machines (V2V and P2V), managing the lifecycle of virtual machines in OpenShift and VMware is needed.
  • Rotational Shifts: Willingness to work on rotational shifts, including night shifts, to provide 24/7 support is a must.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation of systems, configurations, and processes is crucial.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems is necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously monitor system performance and security using Prometheus and Grafana to proactively address potential issues.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in IT
  • Proficiency in managing Windows Servers, including patch management
  • Strong understanding of networking principles and practices
  • Knowledge and management of storage systems and technologies including storage management in OpenShift (PV, PVC)
  • Experience in bare metal server installation, rack and stack operations, and decommissioning servers
  • Experience in deploying, operating, decommissioning, and migrating virtual machines
  • Ability to work on rotational shifts, including night shifts
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
