A key aspect of this role is to establish and maintain a safe work environment, free from hazards that could impact employee health.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure a secure workspace.
- Regularly review and update policies, procedures, rules, and regulations related to workplace safety.
- Ensure adherence to statutory obligations in all areas concerning employee health, safety, and welfare at work.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments for all equipment and operations within the organization.
- Document, investigate, and develop action plans to improve processes following any accidents or incidents.
- Coordinate regular safety inspections, manage lone working procedures, and accurately report fire drills and alarms.
- Oversee the development of comprehensive health and safety policies, systems of work, and procedures.
- Maintain detailed records of all health and safety training provided to employees.
- Establish and implement programs of documented health and safety inspections, audits, and checks.
- Liaise with external consultants to provide specialized training and services enhancing workplace health and safety.
