Financial Planning and Strategy Lead

This high-impact role entails end-to-end ownership of financial planning and analysis, business finance, internal controls, compliance, reporting, and taxation.

As a Financial Planning and Strategy Lead, you will drive strategic initiatives, build a modern, AI-empowered finance function for scale, and work directly with leadership to align financial goals with overall business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Budgeting:
    • Lead quarterly and annual budgeting across all functions, utilizing AI-enabled planning tools to align with company growth and margin goals.
    • Develop robust forecasting models for revenue, costs, and cash runway.
    • Analyze key SaaS metrics—LTV, CAC, NRR, payback period, contribution margins, ROI on marketing spends using AI tools for real-time insights.
    • Drive variance analysis, scenario planning, and cost-benefit assessments for strategic decisions.
    • Promote financial discipline and budgeting ownership across teams through clear planning processes.
  • Cash Flow Management:
    • Manage cash flow to support business continuity and growth.
    • Monitor monthly runway and raise early alerts to leadership.
    • Optimize working capital and the cash conversion cycle using AI-led process improvements.
  • Business Strategy Support:
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to align financial goals with overall business strategy.
    • Provide financial input during strategic planning sessions and other significant business decisions.
  • Reporting & Compliance:
    • Own monthly MIS, board decks, and leadership updates.
    • Ensure timely statutory filings and maintain internal controls and adherence to financial regulations.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Mentor and grow a strong finance team across functions.
    • Encourage an AI-first mindset, and foster a culture of automation, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Process Setup and Continuous Improvement:
    • Design and institutionalize policies across entities with scalable, tech-enabled workflows.
    • Drive automation, accuracy, and efficiency across financial operations.

Qualifications:

  • CA Qualified / MBA (from tier 1 institutions/ B Schools)
  • Prior experience in Business finance is required.
  • Excellent written and oral articulation
  • Highly competent in working with cross-functional teams.
  • Has great analytical skills and an eye for attention to detail
  • Has a positive attitude and keen to learn
  • Experience or strong interest in applying AI in finance workflows
