Alternative Path seeks a skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join its team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently with a high degree of trust and autonomy, while still being part of a collaborative team environment.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will administer Microsoft Intune for endpoint management and provide support for Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) infrastructure.
They will also manage incident and service request management process to ensure timely resolution of user issues and requests.
Proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution using Nexthink are key responsibilities of this role.
The Desktop Support Engineer will handle grant application/drive/folder access requests and ensure proper permissions are granted according to security policies.
Administering user accounts in Active Directory, including adding/removing users from groups and managing calendar access and delegation, are essential duties.
Facilitating consultant onboarding/offboarding processes, including provisioning/deprovisioning access to necessary resources, is also a key responsibility.
Managing access to collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams, including adding/removing users from channels and distribution lists, is another important task.
Responding to phishing email incidents, providing guidance and support to users as needed, requires excellent technical skills.
Remote software installations and configurations to ensure users have access to required applications are daily tasks.
Resetting passwords and unlocking user accounts as per established security protocols is also essential.
Assisting with setting up and troubleshooting Zoom meetings and other video conferencing solutions requires excellent problem-solving skills.
Addressing Zscaler/network connectivity issues and providing resolution to ensure uninterrupted access to network resources is a key responsibility.
Providing support for external file sharing platforms such as ShareFile and Teams channels requires strong technical skills.
Assisting users with unlocking Bitlocker screens and resolving related issues is also an essential duty.
Configuring and mapping network drives and printers for users as needed requires excellent technical skills.
Providing support for mobile devices, including unlocking iPhones and troubleshooting connectivity issues, is a key responsibility.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Intune, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Nexthink, Active Directory, and collaboration tools.
- Problem-solving skills: Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Communication skills: Strong communication skills to provide guidance and support to users.
