Job Title: Ecommerce Developer

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled ecommerce developer to lead the development of high-performance ecommerce stores on various platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ecommerce architecture, theming systems, Liquid templating, and front-end technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, customize, and maintain ecommerce stores, themes, and apps in alignment with brand guidelines and growth goals.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX and design teams to translate mockups and wireframes into responsive, user-friendly websites.
  • Customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+), with clean, scalable code.
  • Develop and enhance features to optimize user experience and drive conversions across devices (mobile, tablet, desktop).
  • Integrate ecommerce platforms with third-party tools and marketing platforms (analytics, CRM, payment gateways, ERP).
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and test across browsers and devices to ensure performance and reliability.
  • Work with Storefront API, AJAX API, and Metafields for advanced customizations and dynamic content.
  • Maintain and improve site speed, usability, and SEO best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including performance marketing and data teams to enable data-driven decision making.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in ecommerce development, including custom theme and app development.
  • Strong command of Liquid, JavaScript (ES6+), jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, and DOM manipulation.
  • Hands-on experience with ecommerce APIs (Storefront, Admin, AJAX), metafields, and ecommerce CLI.
  • Experience integrating and customizing third-party ecommerce apps and external APIs.
  • Ability to develop responsive layouts optimized for performance across all devices.
  • Familiarity with Git version control and development tools such as Postman, Chrome DevTools, etc.
  • Proficient in cross-browser debugging and performance tuning.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience working with ecommerce-focused teams or agencies is a plus.
