Key Responsibilities:

  • System Configuration and Maintenance: Configure and maintain the system environment to ensure it is up-to-date and optimised for performance. This includes installing updates, patches, and service packs as well as performing regular system backups to safeguard data.
  • Software Deployment: Deploy software applications to devices within the organisation. Create and test deployment packages to ensure they are compatible with different systems and meet user requirements.
  • Patch Management: Manage and deploy patches to keep systems secure and up-to-date. Schedule and monitor patch installations, identify vulnerabilities, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the process.
  • Operating System Deployment (OSD): Responsible for deploying Operating Systems to new devices or upgrading existing systems. Create and configure task sequences to automate the installation process and ensure a quick transition for end-users.
  • Device Management: Monitor devices within the organisation to ensure they comply with security policies and configurations. Track device inventory, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and provide technical support to end-users.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensuring the security of IT systems is a critical responsibility. Implement security policies, monitor system logs, and perform vulnerability assessments to protect the organisation's data and infrastructure.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Generate reports and documentation to provide insights into system performance, software deployments, and compliance status. Use tools to create customised reports that help management make informed decisions.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other IT teams and departments to ensure seamless integration with existing systems. Collaborate with network administrators, security teams, and help desk staff to resolve issues and improve overall IT operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in system configuration, software deployment, patch management, and operating system deployment.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to identify trends and patterns in system performance and security.
