Job Title: Optical Design Specialist

Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced optical design specialist with a strong background in stray light analysis and simulation using Ansys SPEOS and Zemax Optic Studio. The selected candidate will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing complex optical systems, ensuring system performance meets stringent imaging and illumination requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate optical models for lens systems, surfaces, and optimization tolerancing in Zemax.
  • Perform stray light analysis for imaging, illumination, and optical sensor systems using SPEOS.
  • Identify ghost images, scattering, reflections, and diffraction effects in optical designs.
  • Develop and validate using SPEOS GPU, use SPEOS material library models for materials and coatings.
  • Use these results to propose mitigation strategies (baffles, coatings, surface finishes, apertures, filters).
  • Conduct trade-off studies with and without baffles and between CPU and GPU.
  • Generate clear technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and client reviews.
  • Stay updated with the latest methodologies and tool capabilities in stray light modeling.
  • Collaborate with senior optical engineers to apply advanced stray light mitigation strategies and integrate findings into product design.
