Job Title

We are seeking a high-level executive to oversee multiple database administration tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Support and Training:
    • Provide 24x7 user support with on-call hours.
    • Escalate problems to the corporate team and third parties as necessary.
    • Identify and resolve database-related issues promptly.
    • Conduct regular health checks on databases.
    • Formulate new requirements based on inputs from implementation and support teams.
    • Generate ad-hoc reports to aid decision-making.
    • Provide data setup support for QA and Dev environments.
    • Maintain master data accurately.
    • Monitor and administer report queues efficiently.
    • Monitor and administer Golden Gate replication routines effectively.
    • Troubleshoot DB issues quickly.
    • Identify bottlenecks and resolve them proactively.
  • Coordination with Vendor:
    • Coordinate with vendors regarding new patches, requirements, and bugs within specified timelines.
  • Knowledge Transfer:
    • Provide technical training to peers and subordinates in the IT department.
  • Release Deployment:
    • Test product patches released by vendors and track issues until closure.
    • Support User Acceptance Testing for new features and functionalities added in HIS and related systems.
    • Provide go-live support post deployment of new features.
  • Following Departmental Processes:
    • Maintain issue trackers daily.
    • Maintain approval records accurately.
    • Perform other duties assigned by the reporting manager.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingsness to travel across locations on short term or long term basis.
  • Desirable knowledge in healthcare provider space.

Key Skills

  • Understanding of Oracle database architecture, including cloning, patching, and upgrade.
  • Expertise in installing, troubleshooting, and monitoring Oracle Golden Gate - 11g bidirectional replication.
  • Experience with production-critical/multi-terabyte Oracle Databases - 11g/10g administration, monitoring, proactive health check of the database.
  • Knowledge in database backup/recovery, including Hot Backup, Cold Backup, and RMAN.
  • Experience in SQL query tuning and database performance analysis.
  • Administration of oracle partitioned tables and their maintenance.
  • Administration of Oracle Application Server / Oracle Forms & Reports Server - 10g/11g along with Oracle WebLogic Server 11g.
  • Expertise in disaster recovery strategies for production/non-production databases.
  • Experience in packages and tools like SQL*Plus, PL/SQL, Oracle RMAN, OEM, OUI, DBCA, NETCA.
  • Proficiency in security administration, including auditing, creating users, roles, profiles, assigning object-level and column-level grants, controlling user access to system resources.
  • Basic UNIX shell commands and scripting.

Desirable Skills

  • Understanding of Sql server database architecture, including administration, patching, and upgrade.
