Job Title: Head Finance and Controlling BU

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting:
    • Prepare budgets, monthly operating plans, FC09, and STRAP.
    • Get inputs from all departments and consolidate them.
    • Analyze actual data on a monthly basis and carry out variance analysis from time to time.
  • Strengthening of Budgetary and Internal Control:
    • Review raw material costs (product-wise).
    • Monitor capital expenses.
    • Carry out business reviews with the board.
    • Provide feedback to functions on variance versus budget and decide on corrective actions.
  • Business Plan Cum Valuation as BU Controller:
    • Prepare and analyze business cases in line with growth plans.
    • Compile, challenge, and monitor business cases and financial scenarios that enable business decisions.
    • Prepare business plans and valuations, including break-even analysis, free cash flow, present value, payback, IRR, ROCE, and ROS.
    • Assist CFOs, Business Unit Leads, and APAC Leadership in decision-making.
    • Participate in gate reviews to ensure SOPs are in line with approved gate workings.
    • Draw up long-term plans and drive to meet profitability and improve operations, investments, and growth plans.
    • Work with R&D on cost recovery and implement VAVE ideas.
  • Implementation and Continuous Review of Int. Control Systems:
    • Examine existing processes and improve or make them more robust if required.
    • Implement gap-filling measures and take feedback from internal auditors on internal control and systems.
  • Audit:
    • Complete audits within deadlines and with no major non-compliances.
    • Coordinate with auditors and external agencies.
    • Identify major issues reported in audits and take corrective actions if necessary.
  • Maintaining Working Capital and Fund Management:
    • Collect payments timely from debtors and make timely payments to creditors.
    • Arrange funds for new projects.
    • Fund for capital expenditures.
  • Professional Competency:
    • Knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
    • Taxation knowledge.
    • Financial controlling.
    • SAP knowledge.
    • SCM knowledge.
    • Product and process costing.
    • Business case preparation and monitoring.
  • Leadership and Management Behavioural Competencies:
    • Must be in a leadership role for at least 5 years.
    • Business understanding: Knowledge of taxation (direct indirect), statutory, legal, and secretarial compliances.
