Merchant Acquiring Risk Specialist

As a Merchant Acquiring Risk Specialist, you will play a critical role in our company's success by identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with merchant acquiring.

This involves reviewing transactions being processed at acquired merchants via various channels, including UPI, POS, and payment gateways. You will also be responsible for checking on merchant behavior, detecting fraudulent merchants, and examining documents received from merchants in the event of escalations or fraud observed.

You will communicate and inform stakeholders across the unit on frauds and patterns observed, and work closely with concerned teams to ensure data requirements are met. Additionally, you will prepare MIS reports and submit them to all concerned stakeholders.

Your expertise in fraud monitoring and analysis, combined with your strong handle on MS Excel and SQL skills, will enable you to drive discussions with stakeholders on new requirements and enhanced surveillance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review transactions being processed at acquired merchants via all channels like UPI, POS, PG
  • Check on merchant behavior and detect fraudulent merchants
  • Examine and verify documents received from the merchant in the event of escalations / fraud observed
  • Communicate and inform stakeholders across the unit on frauds and patterns observed
  • Inform rule creation for merchant monitoring based on patterns observed
  • Keep abreast of fraud trends and MOs in the industry to prevent merchant fraud
  • Follow up with concerned teams for data requirements
  • MIS preparation and submission to all concerned stakeholders
Requirements:
  • 3+ years' experience in fraud monitoring and analysis
  • Good understanding of merchant acquiring, payment aggregator business, UPI fraud
  • Strong handle on MS Excel - filters, pivot, charts, lookup, etc
  • Coding in SQL is a plus
  • Educational background in Engineering, Statistics, Econometrics preferable
