Investment Accounting Expert

We seek an experienced investment accounting professional to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate investment accounting and providing support to staff with complex entries and reconciliations.

This is a critical role that requires hands-on experience in both investment and general ledger accounting, as well as a strong understanding of consolidated concepts and private equity accounting.

About the Role
  • 9+ years of experience in US accounting, preferably in a family office or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
  • Expertise in investment accounting software, such as Sage, QBO, Geneva, and Investran.
  • Familiarity with consolidated accounting concepts, including eliminating entries and intercompany transactions.
  • Private equity accounting experience, including entity cost allocation and trust & foundation accounting.
  • Basic tax treatment knowledge, including income tax and sales tax.
Required Skillset
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record of working with cross-functional teams.
  • Hands-on experience with investment performance platforms, such as Black Diamond, and accounting systems, like Sage and QBO.
  • Ability to train and support staff on complex accounting entries and reconciliations.
Preferred Experience
  • Proven experience in investment accounting for family offices or similar environments.
  • Experience in a reviewer role and staff/project management.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze financial data and make informed decisions.
