Lead the Way in Tax Compliance

At American Express, we're seeking a highly skilled Taxation Director to join our global tax team based in Gurgaon, India. This exciting opportunity will have you managing US tax compliance teams, preparing and reviewing related US tax forms, and liaising with third-party providers for local statutory reporting and compliance responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage US tax compliance teams on the preparation and review of related US tax forms (5471s, 8858, 8865, 8990, 8991, 8992, 8993)
  • Responsible for the management, monitoring, and review of workpapers supporting US international calculations for reporting and tax compliance
  • Excellent technical knowledge of US corporate and international taxation required
  • Experience in leading various projects and initiatives for compliance
  • Looking forward to automation opportunities in existing processes and improving them
  • Build and manage an excellent day-to-day professional relationship with the team and ensure all compliances meet timelines
  • Apprise top management on development of tax issues
  • Ability to effectively communicate key messages to colleagues, business partners, and senior leaders

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Certification(s) Required: Graduation from a Reputed Institute / CA is mandatory
  • 10-12 years of experience working on international tax and/or accounting matters
  • Big 4 experience a plus
  • Willingness to work across regions/time zones & build relationships across Finance
  • Excellent MS Excel skills and good MS Office skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong analytical skills, including a proven ability to translate complex and disparate information into a comprehensive and cohesive conclusion
  • Ability to effectively communicate key messages to colleagues, business partners, and senior leaders
  • Effectively coach, train, and develop a team of managers and analysts in all aspects of their role
