Job Overview

Cvent is seeking a seasoned data scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with other experts to identify innovative applications for AI and machine learning.

  • This role involves collaborating with a talented team of data scientists, software developers, and product owners to develop AI and machine learning solutions.
  • The ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of Cvent's product lines, business models, and data collection methods.
  • We are looking for someone who can perform research on various types of data (numeric, text, audio, video, image) using machine learning techniques.
  • The successful candidate will deliver machine learning models that can be operationalized via Cvent's products.
  • They must also thoroughly document their work and results so that another data scientist can replicate them.
Key Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as natural sciences, math, statistics, or computer science.
  • 4 - 7 years of experience working as a data scientist in industry.
  • Strong familiarity with the Linux operating system and command-line work.
  • Conceptual and technical understanding of machine learning, including model training and evaluation.
  • Experience with formal Python coding.
  • Proficiency in machine learning packages in Python.
  • Experience with relational databases and query-writing in SQL.
  • Knowledge of linear algebra and statistics.
  • Skills in data exploration and interpretation.
Bonus Qualifications
  • A master's or PhD degree in a quantitative field.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI.
  • Experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake platforms.
  • Ability to write production-quality Python code with testing coverage.
  • Experience working on a cloud platform (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud), especially machine learning R&D on a cloud platform.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including Git processes, code reviews, test-driven development and CI/CD.
  • Experience with A/B testing.
  • Skills in data visualization and dashboarding.
  • Knowledge of how to interact with a REST API.
  • Proven ability for proactive, independent work with some supervision.
