Job Title: Database Expert

Database Administrator Role

Our company is looking for an experienced and skilled Database Administrator to oversee the day-to-day operations of our database server. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of the database.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring Log Files: Monitor generated log files to identify errors that could result in incidents.
  • Database Availability: Ensure the database server is available and performing optimally.
  • Log Replication: Monitor database log replication to ensure data integrity.
  • Status Reports: Report on the status of log replications as per agreed schedules.
  • Session Monitoring: Monitor sessions, queries, logs, and latches to ensure smooth database operations.
  • Failure Detection: Monitor the database for failures and logged system events that indicate imminent failure.
  • Purging Logs: Regularly purge database logs and trace files to maintain optimal storage.
  • Config Review: Periodically review database configurations to ensure consistency.
  • Availability Reports: Prepare monthly reports on database availability.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in team management, handling major incidents, and database installation and troubleshooting. They should also have experience with Always ON Cluster configuration and Management, Failover Cluster Management, patching and Failover cluster and Always ON, replication and Link Server configuration, database patching and hardening, job scheduling and maintenance plan, prepared POA and rollback plan on Database Migration, and planning and execution on new project related to Database.
