English to Marathi Translator

Seeking a skilled and culturally aware English to Marathi translator to handle the translation of advertisements for a leading newspaper publication.

The successful candidate will be responsible for translating ad copy from English to Marathi while maintaining the original impact, tone, and brand messaging.

  • Translate advertisement content (print and digital) from English to Marathi, including commercial ads, classifieds, promotional content, and display ads.
  • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and cultural appropriateness of translated advertisements.
  • Adapt advertising copy to suit Marathi audience sensibilities without losing the intent or promotional appeal of the original ad.
  • Proofread and Review: Final copy before going to print to ensure error-free publication.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marathi Literature, Linguistics, Mass Communication, Advertising, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of experience in translation, preferably with a focus on advertising or media.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in Marathi.
  • Familiarity with advertising language, tone, and persuasive techniques.
  • Time Management: Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in basic computer tools (MS Office, Google Docs); familiarity with ad layout tools is a plus.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Marathi culture and nuances, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
