Key Responsibilities
  • Pharmacy Operations Management

The ideal candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards. This includes managing medication inventory, compounding, and medication therapy management services.

  • Staff Supervision and Training

The selected individual will supervise a team of pharmacists, technicians, and support personnel. This involves scheduling, assigning duties, providing training and guidance, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a positive work environment conducive to professional growth and development.

  • Medication Safety and Quality Assurance

To ensure patient safety, the chosen candidate will implement policies and procedures to minimize the risk of medication errors, adverse drug reactions, and drug interactions. This may involve implementing medication reconciliation processes, monitoring for drug recalls or shortages, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

  • Regulatory Compliance

The successful applicant will ensure that all applicable federal, state, and local regulations are adhered to, as well as accreditation standards and professional guidelines. This includes maintaining accurate records, adhering to controlled substance regulations, and participating in regulatory inspections and audits.

  • Pharmaceutical Procurement and Inventory Control

The chosen individual will be responsible for managing medication procurement, inventory control, and distribution processes. This involves maintaining appropriate stock levels, monitoring medication expiration dates, optimizing inventory turnover, and managing relationships with pharmaceutical suppliers and wholesalers.

  • Patient Counseling and Education

The selected candidate will provide medication counseling and education to patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers. This includes explaining medication instructions, potential side effects, drug interactions, and proper medication administration techniques to ensure safe and effective use of medications.

Clinical Pharmacy Services

In this role, the chosen individual may oversee the provision of clinical pharmacy services, such as medication therapy management, anticoagulation management, antimicrobial stewardship, and chronic disease management programs. Collaboration with healthcare providers is expected to optimize medication therapy and improve patient outcomes.
