Electronics Engineer - System Design and Development

We are seeking an experienced electronics engineer to lead the design of high-voltage systems, mixed-signal systems, and FPGA development. This is a rare opportunity to seed a home-grown semiconductor-equipment ecosystem.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing the timing and synchronization backbone so optics, detectors, motion, and software operate in lockstep. They will also build mixed-signal boards: beam control drivers, detector front-ends, data-acquisition, and robust control I/O.

In addition, they will ensure clean, stable power and grounding/shielding for quiet images and strong EMC behavior. The candidate will provide diagnostics, fixtures, and logs so issues are obvious and field-debuggable.

The ideal candidate will have a track record shipping mixed-signal/FPGA systems in instruments, vision, or semiconductor/robotics gear. They should have strong bench skills with scopes, analyzers, and bring-up; pragmatic about testability and manufacturability.

The following key responsibilities are essential:

  • Design the timing and synchronization backbone for deterministic operation across subsystems.
  • Build mixed-signal boards for beam control drivers, detector front-ends, data-acquisition, and robust control I/O.
  • Evaluate and implement clean, stable power and grounding/shielding strategies.
  • Develop diagnostic tools and provide documentation for easy maintenance and troubleshooting.

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electronics engineering, preferably in mixed-signal/FPGA system design and development.
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits, microcontrollers, and programming languages such as C/C++.
  • Experience with PCB design, layout, and verification tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Lossless capture during long runs and lean EMC pre-checks.
