About the Role:

The Learning Support Specialist plays a vital role in guiding students through their learning journey.

Candidates must have industry experience, demonstrated knowledge of the course subject area, and strong interpersonal skills. This is a full-time, remote role.

The purpose of this position is to provide assistance and aid learners enrolled in programs within the fields of machine learning, AI, data engineering, data science, and data analytics.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to student inquiries via the learning management system and learner support software in a timely manner
  • Guide students through complex assignments and questions using industry knowledge
  • Provide prompt feedback that includes pointed questions to help students build problem-solving skills
  • Work with students who are new to the subject matter or have experience
  • Suggest course improvements to enhance content delivery and accuracy
  • Collaborate with the team to solve unexpected course challenges

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of extensive work experience in data engineering, data science, or data analytics
  • Professional and/or academic experience in machine learning and AI
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Python, and GitHub
  • Experience using data visualization tools (i.e., Tableau)
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure
  • Advanced academic background in mathematics, particularly statistics, calculus, and linear algebra
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using Canvas or other related learning management systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Slack and Teams as communication tools
  • Experience working with support/service software or ticketing systems
  • Experience with bug tracking and feedback tools
