Job Title: Electrical Systems Leadership

Role Overview

As an Electrical Systems Leadership professional, you will lead a team of engineers in designing and developing electrical systems for power transformers. Your expertise will ensure that these systems meet customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design leadership: Oversee the development of electrical designs for power transformers, with a focus on quality, quantity, and timely delivery.
  2. Expertise: Utilize extensive experience in pad-mounted, medium, and power transformer design, including enclosure design, cable entry and termination, compartment layouts, cooling system integration, and security features.
  3. Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with sales, project management, manufacturing, quality assurance, and R&D teams to ensure seamless project execution from concept to delivery.
  4. Mentorship: Mentor engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the design team.
  5. Problem-solving: Diagnose and resolve complex design-related issues that may arise during manufacturing, testing, or field operation.
  6. Analysis & simulation: Conduct design calculations, VLN, Anderson, stress analysis, thermal analysis, and other relevant simulations to validate designs and predict performance.
  7. Prototyping & testing support: Collaborate with manufacturing and testing teams during prototype development, testing, and validation phases, providing design input and troubleshooting support.
  8. Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including BOMs, technical specifications, test procedures, and design reports.
  9. Metrics & reporting: Define and monitor engineering metrics (KPIs) for design quality, throughput, and continuous improvement. Report regularly to senior management on project status, risks, team development, and cost savings.
  10. Customer interaction: Serve as an engineering liaison with key customers—supporting technical presentations, addressing design queries, and managing expectations throughout project life cycles. Participate in customer audits, design reviews, and acceptance testing.
  11. Cost and risk management: Balance design performance with cost optimization and manufacturability. Identify technical risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
  12. Talent acquisition: Participate in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new engineers as the department grows.
  13. Standards & compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant national and international standards, safety regulations, and customer-specific requirements.
  14. Continuous improvement: Identify and implement design improvements to enhance product performance, reduce manufacturing costs, improve efficiency, and address customer feedback.
  15. Health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance: Ensure all design and engineering activities follow safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Promote and enforce a positive safety culture within the engineering function.
