Job Title: Senior Underwriter
About This Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underwriter to join our team in Pune. As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating borrower profiles and making informed risk assessments.
Main Responsibilities:- Perform comprehensive underwriting with complete end-to-end case ownership.
- Evaluate borrower profiles using the 4 Cs of Credit – Character, Capacity, Capital, and Collateral.
- Conduct a detailed credit report review for accurate risk assessment.
- Work on both UK mortgage and US mortgage underwriting, including income calculation (bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly), debt-to-income (DTI) ratio assessment, loan-to-value (LTV) ratio evaluation, asset calculation, and PITI (principal, interest, taxes, insurance) review.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth processing and decision-making.
- Minimum 3.5 years of underwriting experience (live/end-to-end).
- Experience in the UK mortgage process or the US mortgage underwriting – both will be considered.
- Strong knowledge of credit report review, DTI, LTV, PITI, income & asset calculations.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills with high accuracy.
- Comfortable working in a UK shift environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
