Lead Data Engineer

About the Position:

We are seeking a seasoned data engineer to spearhead our data engineering team. The successful candidate will have a proven background in designing, developing, and optimizing large-scale data pipelines using cloud-based technologies such as Apache Spark, AWS Glue, and Azure Data Factory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT data pipelines using Apache Spark (PySpark or Scala), AWS Glue, and Azure Data Factory.
  • Collaborate with structured and unstructured data to build scalable ingestion and transformation workflows across cloud platforms.
  • Develop data lake and data warehouse solutions using AWS S3, Azure Data Lake, and AWS Glue.
  • Work with data scientists, analysts, and application developers to support advanced analytics, reporting, and ML workflows.
  • Implement job orchestration, monitoring, and error handling for reliable pipeline execution.
  • Maintenance and support of data pipelines.
  • Data load monitoring.
  • Data validation and quality checks.
  • Consultation with customers on ingestion pipeline optimization.
  • Support for data-related issues at an L2/L3 level.
  • Investigation and resolution of Glue job failures.
  • Resolution of minor transformation logic or input data issues.
  • Dependability failure resolution in Glue workflows.
  • Tuning of job configurations.
  • Impact analysis and root cause analysis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based technologies such as Apache Spark, AWS Glue, and Azure Data Factory.
