International Contract and Legal Specialist

We are seeking an accomplished professional to lead our international contract management and legal operations. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in international arbitration, contract negotiation, and risk mitigation within the manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage international arbitration proceedings, ensuring alignment with global legal standards and corporate interests.
Contract Management:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate high-value commercial contracts.
  • Vet contracts from a legal and risk perspective, ensuring compliance and enforceability.
  • Handle INCO terms, freight agreements, and vessel-related legal documentation.
Claims & Risk Mitigation:
  • Review and manage legal claims, including vessel claims and operational disputes.
  • Analyse potential liabilities and implement strategies for cost reduction and risk mitigation.
  • Provide legal support in procurement-related claims and negotiations.
Litigation & Dispute Resolution:
  • Oversee litigation matters, coordinate with external counsel, and represent the company in legal forums.
  • Develop and execute strategies to resolve disputes efficiently and favourably.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognised institution.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a large, listed manufacturing company.
  • Strong understanding of international arbitration, maritime claims, INCO terms, and commercial law.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex negotiations and legal risk in a dynamic business environment.
