About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our Program Management Group, which plays a critical role in fund-raising, fund management, and program management for our education programs. As a Strategic Program Management Professional, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals, overseeing donor relations, and ensuring that our programs are delivered efficiently and effectively.

You will work closely with our program heads, state teams, and central office to ensure that our programs are well-planned, budgeted, and executed. You will also be responsible for creating proposals for new donors, managing relationships with existing donors, and reporting on progress to stakeholders.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual with excellent project management skills, strong interpersonal skills, and experience in managing teams. You should have a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment and be able to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Program Management Group and oversee donor relations and operations for our education programs.
  • Work closely with program heads, state teams, and central office to ensure that programs are well-planned, budgeted, and executed.
  • Create proposals for new donors and manage relationships with existing donors.
  • Report on progress to stakeholders and ensure that programs are delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to direct reportees and contribute to strengthening systems and processes used by the team and organization.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with:

  • 4-6 years of prior work experience in a similar role in private sector firms, NGOs, or foundations with an interest in education policy and implementation.
  • Demonstrated core beliefs and values of Pratham, including being a perpetual learner, committed to outcomes, and driven by evidence.
  • Willingness to travel regularly and extensively in rural areas of India, with limited amenities.
  • Ability to build rapport with people from various different academic, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with ability to communicate in Hindi or at least 1-2 other regional languages.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with ability to employ a systems-thinking approach to identify gaps in internal processes and recommend improvements.
