Backend Systems Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Backend Systems Engineer to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled professional to take on challenging projects and contribute to the development of complex systems that drive impact.

About the Role

This is a unique chance for you to work with a strong engineering team, developing innovative solutions and machine learning-based features that improve the speed, accuracy, and quality of fraud decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy highly scalable and efficient ML platform software that enables data scientists to build, deploy, and monitor machine learning solutions end-to-end.
  • Ensure high code quality, performance, and reliability through rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to software development best practices.
  • Mentor team members, provide technical guidance, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Monitor and maintain critical applications, services, and products; debug production issues across services adhering to the issue severity.
Requirements
  • Master or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related disciplines.
  • Strong backend development skills including 6-9 years of experience developing scalable, performant backend software components.
  • Proficient in Java EE technologies (Java language, Spring, Spring Boot, JAX-RS, Hibernate or equivalent).
  • Solid track record of delivering quality solutions that can scale and perform to the organization SLO.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, listening, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Strong debugging skills with knowledge of state-of-the-art monitoring/instrumentation systems like OpenTelemetry, DataDog, and APM systems.
  • A strong understanding of ML concepts, ML Ops tools, and techniques is a plus.
  • Experience as a technical lead, including defining the roadmap for complex projects spanning multiple teams and functions.
  • Strong cross-collaboration skills with ability to influence stakeholder teams and lead design and discovery discussions.
