The Executive Housekeeper oversees all housekeeping and laundry operations, coordinating with other departments for a smooth operation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols.
  • Direct the daily activities of housekeeping staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness in guestrooms and public areas are maintained.
  • Extend exceptional customer service to guests.
  • Design training programs, methods, and procedures for team members' development.
  • Oversee departmental training programs and revise relevant manuals as necessary.
  • Balance working schedules for team members and maintain close control over payroll costs.
  • Evaluate the performance of assigned team members regularly.
  • Listen to team members' concerns and assist in resolving them.
  • Regularly inspect vacant and occupied guestrooms to ensure cleaning standards are met.
  • Inspect floors, back-of-house areas, offices, and public spaces to ensure they are clean and well-maintained.
  • Supervise daily laundry operations, including guest laundry, uniforms, linen, and cost control.
  • Hold daily briefings with managers and supervisors to inform them of VIP arrivals, guest complaints, and special assignments.
  • Conduct regular housekeeping communication meetings to discuss team members' feedback, rectify errors for improvement, and communicate special instructions and hotel happenings.
  • Attend meetings to exchange ideas for constructive improvement of hotel operations and keep others informed of management decisions.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Engineering team to ensure guestrooms are in good condition.
  • Consult with the Front Office regarding room blocking for special repairs or deep cleaning and return rooms for sale promptly.
  • Prepare and present annual uniform budgets, housekeeping FFE, and operating equipment budgets to the Director of Operations.
  • Ensure purchased items meet quality and quantity standards, control department expenses, and meet hotel requirements.
  • Meet with suppliers or external consultants to stay up-to-date on the latest cleaning materials and equipment.
  • Adhere to hotel security and emergency policies and procedures.
  • Perform any duties assigned by the Management team deemed necessary.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Executive Housekeeper or similar role.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment.
