Job Description

As a sensor development specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing Linux kernel modules and device drivers for various sensors. You will work closely with the hardware, board support package (BSP), and system integration teams to ensure seamless integration of sensor data into our systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop Linux kernel modules and device drivers for various sensors.
  • Integrate and test drivers on embedded platforms using I2C, SPI, and other standard interfaces.
  • Collaborate with hardware, BSP, and system integration teams to ensure smooth sensor data integration.
  • Process and timestamp sensor data for accurate usage in higher layers.
  • Debug kernel-space and user-space issues using logs, traces, and hardware debuggers.
  • Optimize performance and power consumption of sensor subsystems.
  • Contribute to upstream Linux kernel development or maintain internal kernel branches.
  • Document driver architecture, APIs, and system behavior.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with Linux kernel development and device driver programming in C.
  • Experience with sensor drivers for IMUs, environmental sensors, optical sensors, etc.
  • Proficiency in interfacing protocols like I2C, SPI, GPIO, IRQ handling.
  • Solid understanding of Linux kernel subsystems, including input, IIO, and power management.
  • Experience with embedded toolchains, cross-compilation, and Linux build systems, such as Yocto and Buildroot.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Android HAL or Sensor HAL is a plus.
  • Knowledge of real-time operating constraints and power management frameworks.
  • Familiarity with tools like strace, perf, ftrace, gdb, and oscilloscope/logic analyzers.
  • Contributions to open-source Linux kernel projects or device trees.
