Job Opportunity: AI/ML Project Lead

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Leader to oversee the design and delivery of an AI-powered solution, integrating natural language processing (NLP), anomaly detection, generative AI/retrieval augmented generation (GenAI/RAG), and rule engines on cloud platforms.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Define architecture for data ingestion, storage, and feature extraction; make strategic decisions regarding build vs. buy.
  • Select, train, and operationalize NLP, anomaly/fraud models, and GenAI/RAG components; establish human oversight and quality control processes.
  • Implement experiment tracking, model registry, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) for models, automated evaluation, drift monitoring, and rollback procedures.
  • Design retrieval pipelines, guardrails, and citation-based responses.
  • Oversee feature stores, labelling strategies, and high-quality datasets; enforce data quality rules and lineage.
  • Right-size software development kits (SKUs); caching/batching; cost/per-token dashboards; service level objectives (SLOs) for latency/throughput.
  • Break down epics/stories, estimate and sequence work, unblock teams, run technical design reviews.
  • Translate business policies into machine learning ensembles, present options, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Establish testing pyramids (unit, data, model evaluations, end-to-end); performance targets; observability dashboards.
  • Produce design documents, runbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs); mentor engineers; uplift coding and review standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of software development experience, with at least 5 years leading AI/ML projects.
  • Experience with supervised/unsupervised modelling, anomaly detection, NLP (extraction, classification, named entity recognition), OCR pipelines; evaluation design (precision/recall, receiver operating characteristic/precision-recall).
  • LangChain/LangGraph; embeddings; vector databases; prompt engineering & safety patterns.
  • MLflow, model registry, online/offline evaluations, data/version management; CI/CD for models.
  • Delta Lake/Lakehouse, Azure Data Lake Gen2, Databricks/ADF, schema/versioning, Great Expectations/Deequ.
  • Python (FastAPI), eventing, containerization, API Management.
  • Cognitive Search, Azure OpenAI, Key Vault, Monitor/App Insights, Purview, Cosmos DB/Azure SQL.
  • Technical decision-making, cross-team coordination, stakeholder communication, and mentoring.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certifications in AI/ML disciplines.
  • Hands-on experience with explainable AI and AI governance.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards for financial data.

Qualifications:
