Job Description

The Navigation Integrated Systems Engineer serves as the primary point of contact for vessels, Fleet Superintendents, Partner contract holders, and transversal departments regarding the maintenance of Navigation Integrated Systems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Comply with IMS and all relevant international rules and regulations;
  2. Ensure all duties are performed in accordance with quality, health, safety, environmental, and ethics policies;
  3. Propose a continuous performance improvement plan that will be reported and reviewed on a regular basis;
  4. Monitor or organize the plan surveys/health check/maintenance of navigation integrated systems and provide support to vessels and shore teams, including risk assessment for new situations or planned interventions;
  5. Manage vessel repairs within time and budget by sourcing best solutions with key partners;
  6. Support, assist, and monitor vessel compliance with flag and class requirements related to navigation integrated systems;
  7. Provide feedback and challenge repair proposals from partners or vendors to ensure operational availability;
  8. Contribute actively to the issuance of experience feedback and lessons learned from vessel navigation integrated systems to improve reliability;
  9. Maintain an up-to-date database of radio and navigation systems onboard, discussing optimal lifecycle options with expert teams;
  10. Evaluate and assess partners and key vendors regularly;
  11. Prepare annual budgets for assigned vessels in consultation with Expert/Superintendents/Vessel managers;
  12. Attend vessels in ports when required to stay updated with equipment and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics and Telecommunications.

Experience

  • 3 years' experience in support of vessels is preferred.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Good knowledge of integrated radio and navigation systems, OT networking, cybersecurity controls;
  • Skills to provide best support to vessels and shore teams;
  • Troubleshooting, initiative, flair to solve issues, and curiosity for new technologies;
  • Project management skills, competencies in various software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power Query);
  • Fluent in English;
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment.
