Structural Design Expert

Embark on a challenging career path as a Structural Design Expert, leveraging your expertise in Steel Composite and Pretension/Posttension structures to undertake comprehensive assessments of existing bridges.

  • Conduct thorough feasibility studies to determine the best course of action for strengthening and repair.
  • Design new bridges and strengthen existing ones to meet UK standards, ensuring compliance with relevant design and health and safety guidelines.
  • Perform complex design and assessment checks (Cat II or Cat III) under the guidance of a Senior or Principal Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare or assist others in compiling detailed drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence within tight deadlines.
  • Ensure the accurate implementation of document control and quality assurance processes are followed for issue and filing/archiving of all work carried out.
  • Produce high-quality work that meets industry design standards and suggests revisions as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in MIDAS, LUSAS, Superstress, SAM, ARCHIE, and other relevant computer-aided design software.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.

Mandatory Skills: Bridge Design, Eurocodes, UK CEng.
