About the Role

As a Taxation Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of tax professionals in managing client engagements from start to finish. This includes planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects with expertise in US taxation.

  • Review and prepare Federal tax returns, state tax returns, and other foreign informational forms as prescribed by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for US-based clients.
  • Identify book-to-tax adjustments based on working papers and guide the team accordingly.
  • Manage client engagements, including needs assessment, project planning, and budgeting.
  • Responsible for researching new tax topics and advising the team on appropriate tax treatment.
  • Lead a team of 10-15 members, ensuring their development and performance align with Key Result Areas (KRAs).
  • Provide training on business tax and individual tax returns to new hires and existing staff members.
  • Oversee engagement workflow, resource allocation, and billing.
  • Monitor engagement budgets, comparing hours spent against actual hours worked.
  • Identify new marketplace service opportunities and contribute to growing the Knowcraft tax practice.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Candidate must hold a CA, CS, ICWA, or Master's degree from a reputable university, majoring in Accounting or Finance, with excellent academic results.
  • EA and/or CPA credentials are advantageous and preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a similar role is required.
  • Strong tax accounting skills, with proficiency in US GAAP and tax compliance.
  • Experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams.
  • Broad exposure to federal income taxation and knowledge of tax regulations.
