VMware VCF Specialist

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vSphere, vSAN, vRealize Operations, and NSX.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Monitoring, triaging, and resolving incidents; driving problem management and root-cause analysis.
  2. Performing routine health checks and remediation across vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and vROps.

Required skills include:

  1. Strong hands-on experience with vSphere administration in production (cluster design, HA/DRS, VM lifecycle, patching/updates).
  2. Practical vSAN operations experience (policy-based management, health & performance troubleshooting).
  3. Working knowledge of NSXT for day-to-day ops: overlay/segments, basic routing concepts (T0/T1 awareness), distributed firewall rule creation/validation, NAT.
  4. Experience with vROps / VMware Aria Operations for monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and reporting.
  5. Solid understanding of data center networking (L2/L3 fundamentals) and storage basics.
  6. Comfortable with change/incident processes (ITIL-aligned) and writing/runbook documentation.

Good to have:

  1. Exposure to SDDC Manager/VCF LCM, NSX load balancing, microsegmentation design.
  2. Knowledge of SRM, HCX, Aria Automation/Orchestrator (vRO).
  3. Scripting/automation (PowerCLI/PowerShell; Python nice to have).
  4. Experience with enterprise backup/DR tooling and integrations.
  5. Hardware/platform familiarity (Dell/HP/Cisco UCS) and firmware/driver best practices.

Qualifications:

  1. 4–7 years total experience in VMware virtualization & software-defined data center operations.
  2. 2+ years hands-on with vSphere & vSAN; 1–2 years with NSXT day-to-day operations.
  3. Prior experience operating vROps/Aria Operations in production.
  4. Certifications (preferred): VCP-DCV (required or in progress), VCP-NV (plus), VCAP (plus).
  5. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent practical experience.
