Job Title:

Principal Engineer for Instrumentation and Control Systems

  • Primary responsibility: Design, development, and implementation of advanced instrumentation and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Basis Documents

Prepare design basis documents including specifications, instrument index, and I/O lists. Develop functional loop schematics and logic diagrams. Ensure alignment with industry standards and company policies.

Installation Drawings and Hookups

Create installation drawings and hookups, instrument location layouts, cable tray layouts, and control room layouts. Develop schedules for cables and junction boxes, wiring and interconnection drawings, loop wiring diagrams, and material takeoff. Prepare construction/erection tender documents and CAPEX support documents.

Interdisciplinary Activities

Participate in P&ID review and update, 3D model review, IDR/IDC, and equipment layouts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and effective project execution.

Design Calculations

Perform hands-on experience with design calculations including instrument sizing, control valve sizing, flow meter sizing, safety valve sizing, air and power consumption calculations, thermowell wake frequency calculations, UPS sizing, transformer sizing, cable tray sizing, and cable sizing.

Standards and Regulations

Familiarity with relevant codes and standards applicable to FMCG plants and NEC standards is essential.

Instrument Selection

Knowledge of wiring schemes for ESD/DCS and RTU/SCADA hardware specification and instrument selection for all types of field instruments is also necessary.
