Job Title: Firmware Test Engineer

The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality firmware testing with a focus on quality and adherence to project schedules.

  • Execute product firmware testing with a laser focus on quality and adherence to project schedules.
  • Scope, plan, and execute the test strategy in an Agile environment.
  • Test and validate firmware updates through a mix of white box and black box testing.
  • Develop and manage test automation framework for utilizing various optical instruments using third-party vendor libraries and build product drivers and test cases from scratch for optical performance tests.
  • Collaborate with HW, ASIC, FW, ODVT, and SW teams to derive practical fixes which need to be merged into development code base to create sustenance releases.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis for customer-found defects and enhance test plans to cover customer scenarios.
Qualifications:
  • BS/MS degree with 2-5 years' experience in the area of telecom product testing in testing embedded telecommunication systems.
  • Experience in working in a cross-functional product development environment involved in testing carrier-class telecommunication products.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with a geographically separated test team.
  • Knowledge of test equipment Optical analyzer, power meter, VOA, OSA, Optical Switch, Wave shaper, EDFAs, Traffic generators.
  • Proficiency in Python programming language and knowledge with Py-test is an added advantage.
  • Candidate must be a quick learner and self-starter, energetic, flexible, and positive.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills are critical.
  • Experience with JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, software version control, GIT, and bug tracking systems required.
  • Experience in Test automation.
