Senior PostgreSQL Database Specialist

We seek a highly experienced database professional with 7+ years of hands-on experience in production environments.

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of PostgreSQL internals, architecture, and performance tuning. Proven expertise with pgBackRest, Barman, pg_basebackup, and pg_dump is also required.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain optimal database performance by monitoring queries, indexes, vacuuming, and bloat, and implement robust monitoring and alerts using PgBouncer.
  • Analyze and recover from cluster corruption utilizing advanced tools and procedures, ensuring business continuity through backups and replicas.
  • Plan and execute major upgrades (pg_upgrade, logical replication) across versions and platforms (on-prem cloud), minimizing downtime and data integrity.
  • Manage AWS PostgreSQL services like RDS and Aurora, including parameter groups, snapshot management, performance insights, and multi-AZ failover.

The successful candidate will possess excellent troubleshooting skills and incident management experience. Strong communication and collaboration abilities are essential for success in our 24x7 production support environment.

  • Perform MySQL backup and restore operations efficiently.
  • Manage MySQL user permissions and roles effectively.
  • Setup and troubleshoot MySQL replication to ensure seamless data synchronization.
