The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

They should also have exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies, which would be an added advantage.

A thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is necessary for this role.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Designing body structure system commodities, including under-body, upper-body structures, roof subsystems, panels, and brackets.
  • Knowledge of BIW assembly strategies, joining technologies (RSW, SPR, FDS), and extensive experience with CATIA V5 & V6.
  • Creating parametric 3D proposals in Catia, maintaining editable history, defining materials, and creating components as well as assembly drawings with drawing standards.
  • Packaging studies, environment checks, and regulatory compliance.
  • Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Detailed engineering knowledge of design, function, performance, production, and manufacturing requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the designed systems meet required interfaces, DVA, optical, and perceived quality targets.

Additionally, they will be expected to ensure regulatory compliance of the system, sub-system, and components.

This role involves establishing and maintaining teamwork plans aligned to vehicle programs, providing CAD support, leading and progressing designs in line with program timescales and deliverable cadence.

The ideal candidate will also be responsible for communication with stakeholders, such as the CAE team, manufacturing, packaging, suppliers, and other relevant teams.

Ensuring project deliverables are met is also a key responsibility.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Automotive Engineering.
  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in automotive Body Structure systems.
