Senior Structural Engineer

Your role is that of a senior engineer, responsible for leading teams and overseeing complex projects.
- Work independently or as part of a team to deliver innovative solutions.
- Produce high-quality calculations, models, reports, and presentations within tight deadlines.
- Collaborate with colleagues to review work and ensure quality assurance.
- Present designs at internal workshops and chair external meetings with clients and consultants when required.
- Make timely decisions and take corrective action to drive project success.
- Cultivate relationships with clients and engage other internal discipline designers to leverage opportunities.
- Inform colleagues of design decisions to align with company objectives.
- Develop fee proposals and competition designs in collaboration with senior colleagues.
- Coordinate work with project team members and contribute to internal technical development.
- Mentor and assist junior engineers while maintaining professional development, particularly in line management and chartership.
- Nurture external and internal networks to stay informed and share knowledge.
Your Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience in building structures design on residential and commercial projects.
- 10-15 years of lead structural engineer experience on major projects.
- Broad design knowledge across various projects using British, US, and European codes of practice.
- Familiarity with common analysis software (CSC Fastrak, TEDDS, ROBOT, ETABS, SAFE) and willingness to learn new packages.
- Chartered Member of the ICE or IStructE with Engineering Council UK or equivalent body.
- Master's degree MTech / MSc in structural engineering.
