Seeking an accomplished Database Migration Specialist to oversee the seamless transition of databases from Oracle to PostgreSQL. This key role demands a deep understanding of database administration, migration strategies, and performance optimization techniques.Main Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute the migration of databases from Oracle (11g/12c/19c) to PostgreSQL (12+), encompassing schema, data, and logic conversion.
  • Transform and optimize PL/SQL code to PL/pgSQL, ensuring functional equivalency and performance enhancements.
  • Analyze and optimize database performance post-migration, addressing issues related to query performance, indexing, and data retrieval.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–8 years in database migration and administration, with a focus on Oracle to PostgreSQL migrations.
  • Database Proficiency: Strong command of SQL, PL/SQL, and PL/pgSQL.
  • Maintenance Tools: Experience with tools like ora2pg, pgLoader, AWS DMS, and Flyway.
  • Performance Optimization: Proficiency in PostgreSQL performance tuning, indexing, and replication.
