Job Description

This is a Senior SQL Database Administrator position.

  • We are seeking an experienced professional to manage and maintain our SQL database infrastructure.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent hands-on experience with installing, configuring, managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting SQL 2005 – SQL 2022.
  • Responsibilities include patching hierarchy, clarity on SQL Build numbers and Internal Database build numbers.
  • Upgrading/Migrating SQL Server from older versions to newer ones, including configuration of Linked Servers between same/different SQL Server versions.
  • Setting up contained databases and utilizing them for effective migrations.
  • Configuring recovery models and designing backup strategies, fine tuning backups using Backup Encryption, Compression, and special parameters.
  • Handling Master, Model, MSDB, TEMPDB, and Resource database corruptions.
  • Configuring HADR like Log Shipping, Mirroring, Clustering, Always-On AG & Replication.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Windows Cluster, Quorum, Dynamic Quorum, Voting Mechanism, Failovers through Cluster Administrator and commands.
  • Experience with advanced Cluster scenarios, including Failover, Adding Disk to existing instance with dependencies, Advanced Cluster Parameters.
  • Configuring Always-On AG on standalone instances across Windows Cluster in Synchronous mode and Asynchronous mode.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server Architecture, parameters, T-SQL, Triggers, and Procedures.
  • Administration and configuration of HA/DR solutions, including Clustering, Always-ON Group.
  • Configuration and management of all types of Replications and troubleshooting.
  • Patch management and Always On AG scenarios.
  • Server capacity monitoring, analysis, and tuning activities.
  • Automation using scripts and tools in the area of Backup, Monitoring, Resource Utilization, HA alerts, capacity plan management.
  • SQL Server Tuning and optimization.
