Accounts Receivable Specialist

A key player will oversee the accounts receivable process within an organization. Their primary role is to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts from customers or clients. This professional will work closely with the accounting department and collection agents.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop effective strategies for collecting outstanding debts.
  • Monitor accounts to identify overdue payments and determine actions to take.
  • Negotiate payment plans and resolve customer disputes.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to resolve billing and payment inquiries.
  • Record collection activities, including customer interactions and payment arrangements.
  • Analyze delinquent accounts and prepare reports on collections status.
  • Implement credit policies and procedures to minimize late payments or non-payment.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel or external agencies for complex cases.
  • Stay informed about relevant debt collection laws and regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Must be a chartered accountant/company secretary.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field. A master's degree may be preferred.
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable management, preferably supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly accounts receivable and collections.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for interacting with customers and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset to assess data and trends for effective collection strategies.
  • Familiarity with collection software and tools for managing accounts receivable.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing debt collection practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for handling challenging situations professionally and ethically.
