Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Assembler to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Mainframe programming and be able to develop, maintain, and enhance applications using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and DB2.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills and be able to independently analyze complex code and extract business rules. They will also be able to work effectively with technical and business teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

About the Role:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using Mainframe Assembler, COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and DB2.
  • Analyze and understand complex legacy code to extract and document business rules.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Perform impact analysis, coding, unit testing, and debugging of mainframe components.
  • Work on CICS and MQ Series for transaction and messaging-related tasks.
  • Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The following skills and qualifications are required for this role:

  • 5+ years of hands-on development experience.
  • Strong experience required on Mainframe Assembler.
  • Very good hands-on experience in Cobol, JCL, VSAM, Db2, Mainframe Utilities.
  • Strong coding experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM.
  • Work experience in CICS / MQ series.
  • Strong analytical skills to independently analyze complex code and extract business rules.
